Soulmate

I enjoy the night sky blissful with the stars that glitter with peace. Yet, my soul still wanders with ease. I tease my heart with memories of ours. It always blossomed like wonderful flowers. The scars remind me of how far I've come. How long it took to survive what I've now become. Her beauty was my drug, her lips my eternal fire. The touch of her hand is now what I desire. It always took my soul higher, as she'd rest her head on my chest after a long day's end. She'd fall asleep so fast like a horse on a bend. I'd watch her slumber with peace and love making certain I don't wake. I'd hearing the rustling of the leaves by the window as the wind makes the tree shake. She frowns at the noise, as I hold her close still admiring her beauty.  Contemplating my worth of such adoration is my questionable duty.  Her presence doused my anger, her hugs kept me warm at night. Her laughter chased away my demons who gave me a fright. Sometimes, the memories is all you can cherish of the ones that you love. When they walk out the door it's too late to realize. Your soulmate exists no more.
